HANA USAGI ROOM

Limited to 1 room per dayHana Usagi Pattern

Enjoy a memorable stay in the Hana Usagi Room by HOSOO, celebrating the tradition of Kyoto Nishijin textile.

The Hyatt Regency Kyoto offers a guestroom decorated with the soft and pretty Hana Usagi (flowers and rabbits) pattern, perfect for your special day when you pledge your undying love for each other. In the hopes of conveying Kyoto’s cultural traditions to younger generations in beautiful ways, we present the Hana Usagi Room by HOSOO in cooperation with HOSOO, a Kyoto Nishijin textile company that has been in business since the Edo Period (1603-1868).

Cute rabbits leaping and frolicking in the trees and flowers embossed on a background of pure white silk --- this pattern, known as Hana Usagi Mon, became a highly prized textile with the growth of the tea ceremony. It is also known to have been cherished by Sumi no Kura Ryoi, a wealthy Kyoto merchant in the Momoyama Period (1573-1600). In ancient China, the rabbit motif was treasured as an auspicious motif denoting eternal youth and immortality. Each night, one room only with this special design depicting playful rabbits in formal decor is reserved for one lucky couple who book their wedding at the Hyatt Regency Kyoto.
