FEEL THE KYOTO PACKAGE
- Experience the Uniqueness of KYOTO -

Hyatt Regency Kyoto is delighted to introduce a series of unique tours that offer different Kyoto experiences for guests.
With three different themes, “MIYABI”, “ZEN” and “TAKUMI“, the tours will take guests not only to legendary temples and shrines, but also to experience traditional culture and the art of sophistication in this ancient capital.

“MIYABI” – On the first day of this tour, guests will experience the incense-burning ceremony at the 400-year-old “Kungyoku-do”, or Japanese lamp-making. On the second day, following a visit to either the Nanzenji temple or the Eikando Zenrinji temple, guests will enjoy delicious Japanese cuisine at “Shishigatani-sanso”, a nicely furnished, renovated traditional Japanese house at the foot of Daimonji mountain.
The MIYABI tour takes one and a half days, and prices start from JPY22,500 per person, excluding the room charge.

“ZEN” – Following ‘Shakyou’ (the hand-copying of sutras and Buddhist scriptures) at Tenryuji, the most important temple in the Rinzaishu-Tenryuji school, guests will enjoy ‘Shojin-ryori’ (a vegetarian Zen dish) at the 500-year-old Daitokuji-Ikkyu. Then, the Daitokuji temple, one of the major Zen temples in Kyoto, will delight guests with its beautiful autumn leaves.
The ZEN tour takes one day and prices start from JPY19,500 per person, excluding the room charge.

“TAKUMI”– On this tour, guests will enjoy Kyoto’s unique craftsmanship. On the first day, the tour starts at a workshop where artisans practice the very primitive technique of ‘Kiyomizu-yaki’ (pottery-making) at “Nishimura-koken”. This is complemented by a lecture by Mr. Genji Nishimura (a third master). The second day of the tour will take guests to the Sanjusangendo temple, the Yogenin temple or the Chishakuin temple, home to masterpieces by famous artists. Then, guests are invited on a “back-stage tour” of the sacred kitchen at ‘Ryotei’ (a fancy Japanese restaurant) to watch the chefs’ culinary skills and enjoy sophisticated Japanese food.
The TAKUMI tour takes one and a half days, and prices start from JPY25,500 per person, excluding the room charge.
