HYATT ANNOUNCES A NEW HOTEL
IN JAPAN’S ANCIENT CAPITAL KYOTO
Hyatt Regency Kyoto to Open in March 2006


Hong Kong , November 21, 2005 - Hyatt International today announced it will open Hyatt Regency Kyoto in March 2006. The 189-room hotel is conveniently located minutes from the Japan Railway Kyoto Station, but is set in the Higashiyama Shichijo district in the traditional cultural heart of Kyoto, a neighbourhood with the Sanjusangendo Temple, the Kyoto National Museum and many temples and landmarks. .

Designed by Super Potato, a well-known interior design firm, Hyatt Regency Kyoto blends contemporary Japanese style with traditional design elements. Elegant bamboo trees provide a dignified entrance, leading to a mature, beautifully maintained Japanese garden, with a waterfall and pond, dating back 850 years to the reign of Emperor Goshirakawa (1155-1158AD).

Each of the 189 guestrooms will offer a comfortable and relaxed environment, combining traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern facilities. Guestrooms are designed with a simple functional concept, using natural colours, white oak wood and Japanese kimono fabric. All rooms are equipped with flat-screen televisions and high-speed broadband Internet access.

Hyatt Regency Kyoto will feature innovative, stylish restaurants and bar, serving only the freshest and authentic produce available. It includes an Italian Cafe, a steak and seafood Grill and a Japanese restaurant and Sake Bar.

Located at the lobby level, the steak and seafood grill will have a contemporary interior, open kitchen and wood-fire ovens. Guests will enjoy relaxing views of the traditional Japanese garden. The Italian Café will be a casual trattoria-style restaurant with a show kitchen, offering pasta, pizza and home-style dishes. At the Pastry Boutique guests will have freshly baked bread andpastries from the hotel bakery, with an excellent range of speciality sweets and chocolates.

Modelled after a traditional Kyoto house, the Japanese restaurant will offer three choices of cuisine: Kappo style, a Sushi bar and charcoal grill. All menus feature the freshest seasonal products from the local market. This stylish Japanese restaurant also features a bar, a private dining area and chef’s table.

Hyatt Regency Kyoto will have stunning banquet and wedding facilities with a main ballroom, two junior ballrooms, additional meeting and function rooms, as well as a wedding chapel, wedding salon and family rooms. The hotel’s professional wedding concierge will help produce a fully-tailored wedding, ranging from the ceremony style, the choice of menus, wedding dress design and flower bouquets for the bride.

There will be a spa and fitness centre with the latest fitness equipment, 10 spa treatment rooms and personal training and wellness programmes.
