The festival held on these days coincides with the anniversary of Shogun Hideyoshi Toyotomi’s death (18 August in the lunar calendar).
Court music and Shinto dance by shrine maidens will be performed on the 18th along with a tea dedication ceremony by a master of the Yabuuchi house. 
Toumon Gate, a national treasure of Japan, is also worth seeing
