| TEXT: | Mt. Kurama is known for Ushiwakamaru and King Shanaou. Yoshitsune Minamoto, one of Japan’s most famous warriors, also known as Ushiwakamaru, lived at Mt. Kurama from the age of 7 to 17. Yoshitsune became famous during the Genpei War but sadly ended his life at the Koromogawa River. It is believed that his soul returned to his home, Mt. Kurama, where he is worshipped as King Shanaou, protector of King Gohomao.. |
