TEXT:   The “Grand Tea Ceremony for Citizens of Kyoto” provides the chance to appreciate Japanese tea and the Japanese-Western-fusion garden at the same time.  The event will be held at Seiryuen Garden in Nijo Castle and the tea ceremony will be officiated by masters of three Japanese tea schools— Urasenke: Oct. 29; Omotesenke: Nov. 1; Yabuuchike: Nov. 3.  During Autumn Festa 2006 (Nijo Castle Festival) held from Sept. 15 to Nov. 26, there will be various events, including the special viewing of Honmaru Goten and a live performance of koto (Japanese zither) by koto player Miyanishi Nozomi. The festival is to appeal the importance of protection and accession of world heritage and cultural property.
