Jidai Matsuri is one of the three big festivals in Kyoto.  This amazing parade of authentic costumes representing historical eras of Kyoto is simply breathtaking.  Geisha and maiko will be dressed as Murasaki Shikibu, Seisho Nagon and others.  The parade will leave the Old Imperial Palace at noon, pass through Miyako Oji, and arrive at Heian Shrine at approximately 14:30.
