| TEXT: | ‘The Special Illuminated Evening Visit’ is held regularly in spring and autumn. The theme of this spring's event is "The Origin of Light: Mandala of Light of Shinjo" as Shorenin is dedicated to Shinjo-nyorai, the nyorai of light. Visitors can admire the spectacular 270-degree night view from Hiei-zan to Osaka. Also to be enjoyed the illuminations under which such seasonal flowers as somei-yoshino, shidare-zakura and yama-zakura cherry blossoms, kawarizaki peach, fuji and satsuki are resplendent. |
