| TEXT: | The Aigo festival is held on Children’s Day with the health and prosperity of children in mind. Visitors can admire the beauty of the flora in the shrine grounds, including sweet-smelling tachibana (a kind of citrus) flowers, which are at their height during this season. Heian-jingu produces delicacies with the fruit of tachibana of Ukon (right side). They are Tachibana-shu (sake) and Tachibana-gashi (sweets) and on sale to visitors (each 1,000 yen). |
