The main participants in the Imakumano Festival are children and their clothes and decorations made by each local area.  The lively children’s pageant, which weaves through the Imakumano district, includes a lion dance and music by a drum and fife band.  This is followed by the Kanko festival in the grounds of the shrine, at which visitors can enjoy shishi-kagura (Shinto music and lion dance).  Members of the audience are welcome to join in the children’s procession.  Let’s enjoy the festival together.
