| TEXT: | This is the temple where the daughters of the Imperial Family began their religion, and it has a large collection of historic dolls including the one Koumei Emperor loved most in his life. The temple is also called “Ningyo-dera,” or “the temple of dolls,” as it holds memorial services for dolls and doll exhibits. Within this exhibition are displayed new and old masterpieces from Kyoto and other regions, as well as gorgeous real-size dolls. These lovely, smiling dolls will sooth your soul. |
