| TEXT: | A large nirvana picture measuring 15 meters length by 8 meters width is open to the public in the Hon-do Hall. The piece of art was drawn by a famous artist named Myouchou during the Muromachi period (1338-1573), and is well known for its extraordinary size and style. There are also other events in the shrine for the enjoyment of visitors such as the floral art exhibition, Shakuhachi (Japanese flute) performance as an offering to the Gods, and Amazake (sweet rice sake) services for visitors. During this festival, the ceiling picture of Buddha’s image (National Treasure) and the Ryugin-an Houjo and Garden are open to the public. |
