| TEXT: | This ceremony is based on a traditional tale of a holy priest named Buen who killed a large serpent. Green bamboos decorated to resemble large serpents are cut down to chase out evil. The echo of a conch shell at 14:00, ushers in men dressed as warrior priests, who carry out “Takenarashi,” the cutting of four green bamboos into the same length in order to predict coming events in the year. |
