| TEXT: | On day of doyo no ushi (day of the ox in midsummer), traditionally the hottest day of the year, a “foot-dipping” event is held at Mitarashi jinja Shrine. It is said that dipping the feet into Mitarashi Pond, located within the shrine, is effective in purifying evil, recovering from illness, and easing the delivery of babies. Many visitors of all ages pray for good health at this event. |
