| TEXT: | Since the day is the anniversary of the death of the temple’s founder, Koubou Daishi, it is called “Hatsu Koubou” (first Koubou). A memorial service is held in the Daishi-do Hall, and approximately 1,200 stalls welcome a crowd of people every year. You can find a plant fair between the Toudai-mon Gate and the Nandai-mon Gate facing Kujo-ouji Street, and after going through the gate, you will see antique shops, groceries and houseware shops around the Kon-do Hall and the Daishi-do Hall. You can spend an enjoyable day even without shopping. |
