| TEXT: | During the five days of the festival, good luck bamboo grasses and talismans for prosperity in business and family are given to people. On the 10th, between 11:00 a.m. and noon, and again between 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., Toei Movie actresses are carried in a palanquin decorated with pine, bamboo and plum in red and white colors. They visit the shrine from the Uzumasa Eigamura (Kyoto Studio Park), while calling out a famous and traditional phrase, “Bring us bamboo grasses for prosperity in business!” Afterwards, they visit department stores, shops, banks and other places to distribute good luck bamboo grasses to celebrate the turn of the year in Kyoto. |
