TEXT:   For sightseeing, try the morning market held in Okazaki Park and the Heian-jingu Shrine, both of which are among the prominent cultural sightseeing spots in Kyoto-city. There are not only shops selling Kyoto’s vegetables, products and souvenirs, but also those where you can have Kyoto’s dishes such as Nishinsoba (noodles with herring) and Namafu-zenzai (bean soup with wheat gluten). Besides shopping and eating, people can enjoy other events, such as the exhibition of cow carriages, used for the Jidai-matsuri Festival, and various street performances.
