| TEXT: | Approximately 750 years ago, when Shinran Shonin (founder of Shin Buddhism) was teaching in this place, he was very amazed by the salty taste of boiled radish offered by the village people. Therefore, he picked up some ears of silver grass in front of the garden, wrote a Buddha’s name in ten letters with it, and left it there as a remembrance. From the early morning, approximately 3,000 radishes, which are prepared in the previous day, boiled in a huge pan by the believers, and then served to approximately 10,000 visitors. |
