| TEXT: | Rokudo Chinnoji Temple is known as “the well that connects this world to the next.” The Buddhism ritual of welcoming back the spirits of the deceased for the Bon period has been held for the past 1200 years at this temple. On the day of Rokudo Mairi, many worshippers visit the temple to ring “the calling bell” to welcome their ancestors on their return to this world. |
