TEXT:   The annual special evening visits to Kiyomizu Temple have been enjoyed for a long time. The whole of Mt. Kiyomizu is beautifully decorated with colored leaves, especially around Shintakao’s Kinun ravine in the South Garden and Momijidani valley in the North Garden. The landscape is so beautiful that it is often referred to as the Pure Land, “Fudaraku”, of the Kannon Goddess. The Main Hall, built as a stage structure, is very impressive as it emerges from the darkness. Jojuin Garden, also known as Moon Garden, is open to public at 18:30 to 21:00 (last admission) between November 17 and December 9.
Admission: Adults – 600 yen,
elementary/junior high school students – 300 yen.
*Moon Garden and Jojuin Garden are also
open between 9:00 and 16:00 (last admission).
