since 1950, Kyoto Takigi Noh is an established early summer
Kyoto event in which performers from the Kanze, Kongo and
Okura schools showcase their skills. This year’s theme is
“Dance in the snow, sing to the moon, and play among the flowers.”
The beauty of the dances, performed on a special stage in
the front shrine, coupled with noh masks and costumes lit
by flickering firelight, carries the audience to a subtle and
profound world.
*Contact Kyoto Takigi Noh Secretariat for information regarding
delay or cancellation of the event due to rain, etc.
