| TEXT: | At both 3:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., visitors can follow the temple’s priests as they walk through a chinowa (ring of reeds) two meters in diameter that is hung between the main hall and the oratory. Visitors may remove reeds from the chinowa to make their own small chinowa to hang at the entrance of their homes to ward off illness. The reeds are also said to give children wisdom when tied around their heads. *Visitors may walk through the chinowa any time after the rituals at 15:00 and 23:00. |
