TEXT:   The pottery festival is a popular Kyoto summertime event, held annually over three days. Events, such as pottery classes and raku-ware lessons, are held alongside markets offering hundreds of thousands of tableware and tea ware items, vases and interior goods, all at discounted prices.
Starting this year, work by the participants of an amateur pottery contest collected from across Japan will be exhibited during the festival.
