TEXT:		Tentokuin temple is open to the public for balloon flower viewing during this period. The main building and the garden in front of the shoin were constructed in the Momoyama period. Visitors can enjoy beautiful blue and white balloon flowers in the moss-covered karesansui (dry landscape) garden. In addition, a special vegetarian meal known as “kikyo-zen” is served at the shoin. (3,000 yen, available between 11:00 and 14:00 *advanced reservation required) Tentokuin is a great place to visit in the evening during this period for evening flower viewing (after sunset to 20:30).
